Yvette is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Massachusetts. Yvette graduated with a Master's of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling - Addictions Counseling, from Antioch University New England, Keene, NH, in 2013. Prior to her graduate studies, she attended Curry College, Milton, Ma, where she obtained her Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Psychology in 2008.
Yvette has been working in the mental health field for 16 years. While she was in college, Yvette worked in long-term care as a rehabilitation specialist and sat with individuals receiving hospice and end of life care, as well as the families who had a loved one receiving hospice and end of life treatment. This was where she truly fell in love with this work and wanted to pursue a career in clinical mental health counseling. Yvette has experience working in different levels of care including Partial Hospital Programming, In-Home Therapy for children & Families and Outpatient clinical settings. She has also worked in leadership positions in case management, has experience being a supervisor and providing clinical supervision. Some examples of the different psychological needs she has treated throughout her career are individuals with trauma, anxiety, depression, victims of sexual assault and victim blaming, chronic illness, parents who have a child with a chronic illness, chronic pain and auto-immune disorders, individuals struggling with addiction, early and long-term recovery, codependency, domestic violence, grief and loss, divorce and end of relationships, life transitions, family conflict and strained or estranged relationships, individuals involved in the legal system, work related stress and difficulty with work & life balance, individuals acting as CEO's of large institutions or companies, Directors of programs and Lawyers.
1.) In 2013, after graduating from graduate school, Yvette's first job was opening a In-Home Therapy Program for children and families at CHD, as the only clinician, based out of Greenfield, MA. That program has since expanded and is currently providing great mental health care to Franklin County, MA communities.
2.) Yvette is an avid dog lover and has two large rescue dogs of her own. She loves being a dog mom and believes animals can bring healing to others!
3.) Yvette actively participates in and deeply cares about the movement against mental health stigma. She takes pride in doing this by making it a part of both her personal and work life.
